Great Estate Resort

The scale of this project included alterations and additions to the majority of this sprawling hilltop resort. My primary role was to develop a series of comprehensive site grading plans to accommodate multiple new buildings, outdoor activity spaces, stormwater management systems, and all other functional site elements.

At the main arrival courtyard, hardscape patterns and curving walls denote the drive lane and valet areas, while a berm hides a utility cart path from view.

Excavation for the many new buildings on site generated significant volumes of excess fill. We used this fill to design a large-capacity stormwater retention basin that collects surface runoff from adjacent parking lots, blends seamlessly with the landforms of the adjacent golf course, and curves to protect a grove of mature trees.

Wide switchbacks allow this path to serve as an accessible route to the spa without the need for handrails.
